In October, 412 Food Rescue solidified our role as a leader in the global fight against food waste and hunger as our Food Rescue Hero platform team proudly hosted the 3rd annual Food Rescue Conference.
This powerful virtual gathering brought together over 300 food rescue advocates, nonprofit leaders, corporate partners, and volunteers from across the globe to discuss solutions, share insights, and strengthen our collective impact on food insecurity.
For two impactful days, attendees joined panel discussions and workshops centered on innovative strategies for reducing food waste, improving food access, and mitigating related climate.
“Getting everyone in the same room and talking with others that are doing this same work is invaluable. It’s always a highlight and the main reason for doing this event! “
Along with national leaders, the conference provided an opportunity for local leaders like GetGo, Heinz Endowments and Posner Foundation to take to the stage sharing stories of resilience and success from our own community, including how 412 Food Rescue’s volunteer-powered model has diverted millions of pounds of surplus food from landfills to tables in need.
Attendees also explored the impact of our technology platform, Food Rescue Hero, which now serves over 20 partners worldwide, each implementing the Pittsburgh-born model to meet their unique food security challenges.
From inspiring keynotes to hands-on training in volunteer engagement and tech-driven solutions, the conference reinforced how much can be achieved when we come together with purpose.
As more places adopt our Food Rescue Hero platform to power their local food rescue organizations, we’re proud to see our city inspiring a global movement to end food waste and hunger. Together, we’re proving that with innovation, dedication, and community, we can change lives one rescued meal at a time.
