Sara comes to 412 Food Rescue with nearly a decade of grant writing and grants management experience. Before 412 Food Rescue, she was the Development Associate at the Westmoreland County Food Bank. There, she was responsible for raising funds to support charitable food programs, implementing planned giving outreach, supporting direct mail, assisting with special events and more. Prior to the Food Bank, Sara was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for The Salvation Army Western PA Division. During her tenure with The Salvation Army, she raised funds via grants from private and corporate foundations, government contracts, United Ways/Funds and more. Accountable for more than $2 million annually, Sara secured and maintained funding for a wide array of human service program needs throughout the organization’s 28-county footprint, including homeless sheltering, indigent care, charitable food programs and more. Before her work in fundraising, she also held positions in government and community affairs at Comcast and nonprofit program operations at the Coro Center for Civic Leadership’s Regional Internship Center.
