Food Education

We believe that food education is an essential step in linking the farm to table disconnect and ensuring that the fresh food we deliver makes it to families’ tables.

412 Food Rescue has been chosen as the regional partner for Share Our Strength’s award-winning Cooking Matters curriculum. Cooking Matters is a nationally recognized food education curriculum that spans 6 weeks and is designed to teach adults, children and caregivers how to cook healthy food on a budget.

412 Food Rescue’s Cooking Matters is the only adult-focused, in-depth food education in the region. Our goal is to have a “cooking school in every community” — to enable our nonprofit network to offer the curriculum in the communities they serve.

To support our efforts to bring food education to our nonprofit partner network, 412 Food Rescue has developed Clean Plate Cooking Classes, an employee engagement program for our corporate and business partners who are interested in team building activities focused on healthy, zero-waste cooking.

If you are a partner interested in bringing food education to your community, or if you would like more information about our Clean Plate Cooking Classes, please email cookingmatters@412foodrescue.org.
