There are many ways to measure impact and success. Maybe you’re a numbers person and want to peruse reports and resources. Maybe you’re more interested to hear how our work is reducing food waste and hunger among community members, from community members. Or maybe you want to explore both.
Our Impact
We’ve proven that food rescue is about way more than just food.
By The Numbers
Our pioneering work in the Pittsburgh community has significantly impacted food insecurity among the populations we serve.

Research
Does food rescue work?
Third-party research from Dr. Catherine Greeno from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, modeled after the USDA Food Insecurity survey, shows that we improve food security in 88% of the population we reach.
Where is food insecurity in Allegheny County?
Our approach to food distribution is grounded in an understanding that the last mile, including removing barriers such as transportation and time, is key to ensuring food access. We break the norm on where food should be available. In this process, we reach an unprecedented number of people in poverty.
