📚 Read Together as a Family this Summer

According to Scholastic, Summer reading is critical, not only for helping kids maintain learning while school is out, but also for fostering social-emotional development, discovering the joy of stories, and elevating the importance of lifelong learning. In fact, 96% of educators point out that providing year-round access to books at home is important to enhancing student achievement.

👨‍👩‍👧 Volunteer as a Family Together this Summer

And when you volunteer as a family this summer, amazing your special family bond gets even stronger. You build empathy, closeness and brings your unit together in joy. According to Psych Central, families that volunteer build stronger communities, too. It’s pretty cool! And with the 412 Food Rescue app, volunteering as a family is so easy. The app makes it so convenient to claim a food rescue nearby. In just 30 minutes, your family will be guided every step of the way to pick up some fresh food at a nearby retailer and drop it off at a nonprofit close by. The best part? By picking up that fresh, nutritious extra food, you’ll be helping out our planet. Throwing food away isn’t just sad, it’s really bad for our environment. So every time you pick up some surplus food you’re doing extra good for our world! 🌎
