NAP funds will support 412 Food Rescue’s Good Food Project operating out of Millvale. The GFP furthers our mission to combat food waste and food insecurity by stabilizing and processing surplus fresh food in our zero-waste kitchen.
Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP)
412 Food Rescue participates in the PA State Department of Community and Economic Development Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). The Charitable Food Program (CFP) component of NAP is focused on improving food security in Pennsylvania. Through this program participating businesses that invest in a designated 412 Food Rescue program are able to receive a 65% tax credit for their contribution!

The Good Food Project (GFP)

Each week, the GFP creates on average 525 healthy well-rounded meals. Food is transported by the 412 Food Rescue Fleet Team from area donors and typically consists of large volume items that our regular food distribution partners are unable to utilize. Meals are then created by the GFP team and volunteers, and are housed in compostable packing.
These healthy heat-and-eat meals are then distributed to our partners throughout Allegheny County.
