As we gear up to celebrate 10 years of rescuing food and fighting hunger, we’re bringing our mission to life with a new mascot—and we want your input!
Thank you, Gordon Food Services, for being a cornerstone of our work to reduce food waste and hunger. Together, we’re making a difference—one meal, one volunteer shift, and one partnership at a time.
The season of giving is here, and 412 Food Rescue is thrilled to invite you to join this year’s global day of giving through the Pittsburgh Magazine’s GiveBig Pittsburgh. This annual 24-hour fundraising event unites local nonprofits, including many of the 412 Food Rescue nonprofit distribution partners, in a powerful mission to drive impact across the region.
In October, 412 Food Rescue solidified our role as a leader in the global fight against food waste and hunger as our Food Rescue Hero platform team proudly hosted the 3rd annual Food Rescue Conference.
As Halloween draws near, it’s important to reflect on why food waste is more concerning than any ghost story. The squandered resources, environmental implications, and the persistent presence of hunger in our community are all tangible concerns that, upon mitigating food waste, can dissipate as well.
My grandparents inspired me to “waste not, want not” by paying attention to resources, taking care of the environment and other people. And now, every day I am also inspired by our team and our volunteers at 412 Food Rescue who bring our community together to reduce food waste and feed our neighbors, using technology for good.
