Why is redirecting surplus food important to Gordon Food Service?

Redirecting food has been a part of the Gordon family since our inception over 100 years ago.  The Gordon Family has always recognized the responsibility to the communities that they work and live in.  In Imperial, we love keeping that philosophy and spirit going strong!

What value has 412 Food Rescue provided to Gordon Food Service?

For me, the value has been creating a great partnership with a values-oriented organization that shares a lot of the Gordon Family Cornerstone Values. Being able to share the stories of 412 Food Rescue’s success in the community with the rest of our employees really energizes our staff!

If you could give someone one reason to volunteer with 412 Food Rescue, what would it be?

 I would say that you get to see the good that still exists [in society and] the world when people come together.  With so much horrible news hammering us all the time, to see a community come together when they see that 412 Food Rescue truck coming or a 412 Food Rescue volunteer, it is uplifting and you see that people are not as divided as we are led to believe.
