Volunteering with the Grocery Bagging Program

"I started because my husband's company had originally [volunteered] as a corporate engagement, I liked the work and looked deeper into 412 Food Rescue. Between the environmental and social impact it makes, especially now with food insecurity more widespread now than ever, I wanted to do something to alleviate it.

Working with an organization that is effective in reducing waste AND mitigating food insecurity is a huge part of my why. That's a win-win.

An equal part is also the sense of community. You become connected to the people who are going through a tough time. It feels good to know you can give them 'a port in the storm' - especially when it comes to something as vital as food. You become more fully aware of how MANY people where you live are affected by hunger, and how MUCH food waste there is. (It's way more than you think - on both accounts). Taking action & volunteering alongside other people who share your goal connects you to your community."

- Jillian H., long-time Grocery Bagging Program volunteer

Let’s make March a month of giving back and fun! Join us in supporting our community and have a chance to win a nice gift. Your commitment makes a world of difference.

Thank you for being a vital part of our mission and thank you to our partners at Driftwood Oven for graciously donating this gift!
