Rebuilding Together: The Good Food Project Resumes at Temporary Location

By May 26, 2023Article

We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of the Good Food Project’s Kitchen Prep program following a devastating fire earlier this year. Thanks to the support and resilience of our dedicated volunteers and staff, we are ready to resume our mission of providing nourishing meals to those in need.

We invite you to join us starting on June 6th, as we reopen our kitchen at a temporary location in Bellevue at AGH Suburban and reignite the spirit of giving back. This is an opportunity for you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity, all while being part of a strong and compassionate community.

Beginning on June 6th, we will be offering volunteer opportunities from Tuesday to Friday, providing a flexible schedule to accommodate a variety of commitments. Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or can dedicate an entire day to lending a helping hand, we welcome your involvement. By contributing your time and energy, you will play a vital role in the preparation of meals that bring nourishment and comfort to those in need.

As a kitchen prep volunteer, you will work alongside our experienced culinary team to assist with various tasks that support our meal preparation process. These may include:

  • Chopping, dicing, and slicing fresh ingredients to ensure a high-quality and nutritious meal.
  • Measuring and portioning ingredients for recipes.
  • Preparing and organizing food containers for distribution.
  • Cleaning and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • No prior culinary experience is required. Our team will provide guidance and training to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteer role. All we ask for is your enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to make a positive impact.
